What's the best strategy to sell original photos online?
I've seen sites like smugmug that will store and display your original photos, and give you 85% of the asking price if you sell a photo. Can this work? My idea is to hook up with a photo gallery and exhibit there, and get them to work with me in developing an online presence to coincide with my photo exihibitions. Is this a good way to go, or would it be better to just create my own website? What are Pros and cons of each or an altogether different plant?
Smugmug is not for major income. The solution is stock photography. If you have good photos you can sell them easily here. Just sign up and upload your photos. Once accepted your photos will be downloaded for a price. You get your money every time the photo is downloaded, so every good photo is a win-money to you.
