Should there be a law that if you PRESS 1 FOR ENGLISH, you should get someone who's FIRST language is English?

I pressed ONE when calling Sears the other day and the person who answered had a thick Spanish accent and I could not understand her.

Take the Press 1 or 2 off and people will learn how to speak English in a English speaking country the only Spanish words needed would be "Go learn how to speak English and call back" Then hang the phone up and assist American Citizens the "Hold" time would be reduced by 75% or more.

Go down to Mexico and if you don't know the language you are out of luck, if you don't have the correct papers you go to jail, if you do not have the cash you do not get heath care, if you are caught with drugs in you possession you go straight to jail, if your caught having a job with out the correct papers you go to jail and posting bond for any of them is totally out of the question. If you want a lawyer you better have some bucks or rot in jail with no exercise room or TV and wish for more than 1/2 of a meal a day and water that is not contaminated.

Tell the Mexican government if they insist on their people invading the US then the least they could do is teach them how to speak English before they hoped the border.

In one medium sized town in Southern Cal the STOP signs say ALTO and the street signs are Bilingual. How about that one?

The instructions for the use of US government and/or state food stamps cards on written on the back in Spanish. 80% of the checkout clerks at the grocery stores can't speak English.
